Friction Folder ![A friction folder has a freely moving blade without any restraints or locking mechanisms. This knife features an extended tang to open the blade quickly and to keep the opened blade in place with the hand that holds the knife. This knife design has been used for centuries. Friction Folders are non-locking making them ideal for UK legal pocket knives. Friction folding knives are the original folding pocket knife. Before the invention of slipjoint and locking knives, all folding knives used the friction of the blade tang against the handle and the pressure of your hand to stay open. The absence of a lock means that these knives are best for light cutting tasks. Friction folders have also been known as "penny knives" but that's from many years in the past.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |

Curly Birch Wood ![Birch wood is highly durable because of its great strength and can last long more than our lifetime easily with proper care. Curly birch is a variant of the plant species silver birch with a genetic defect that causes the tree to twist on the stem with curls. The annual rings are oriented incorrectly, which gives the wood a fiery appearance. The variant originally comes from Karelia in Finland and Russia. The traditional material used for Finnish knife handles is curly birch. The wood comes from the curly birch belt in Central Finland. The blaze-patterned curly birch is an excellent material for knife handles, because it's durable and beautiful.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |

Description:
The Böker Manufaktur Damascus Curly Birch 140610DAM is a top-quality straight razor. Böker has been producing straight razors for over a hundred years and has an excellent reputation in this field. This straight razor is made in the Böker workshop in Solingen, Germany.
This straight razor has an extra hollow grind with a ridge. The extra hollow grind gives you an extremely thin edge which is also a little flexible. This razor is amazing to work with but perhaps not as suited for heavy beard growth. The ridge ensures that the spine of the blade is thick enough to be blocked by the handle. In addition, the spine provides support when determining the right sharpening angle while stropping and sharpening.
This razor is enhanced with a French tip and the tang behind the edge is enhanced with grip serrations. The handle is made from stunning 'Curly Birch' wood. This is a natural material, making each knife unique.
Swedish Stainless Damascus Steel
For this special edition straight razor Böker used stainless Swedish damascus steel. This damascus steel is enhanced with a twist-pattern. This luxurious material, in combination with the curly birch wood of the handle, makes the knife look classy.
Böker made sure that this straight razor is ready to be used as it is delivered to your doorstep. This means that it was sharpened razor-sharp and stropped: you can immediately get to work.
