The Böker Manufaktur Master Cutter Damascus, Desert Ironwood 140800DAM is a top-quality straight razor. Böker has been producing straight razors for over a hundred years and has an excellent reputation in this field. This straight razor is made in the Böker workshop in Solingen, Germany.
The Master Cutter lives up to its name. With this straight razor Böker achieved a milestone: a damascus steel razor with a blade thickness of 7 mm and a height of 2.5 cm. Not only difficult to produce, but also to sharpen according to Bökers demands. And trust us. These are quite strict for straight razors!
This straight razor has an extra hollow grind with a ridge. The extra hollow grind gives you an extremely thin edge which is also a little flexible. This razor is amazing to work with but perhaps not as suited for heavy beard growth. The ridge ensures that the spine of the blade is thick enough to be blocked by the handle. In addition, the spine provides support when determining the right sharpening angle while stropping and sharpening.
This razor is enhanced with a barbers notch and the tang behind the edge is enhanced with grip serrations on both sides. The handle is made from luxurious desert ironwood. With the Master Cutter the handle is not secured with pins but decorated screws. A nice detail you don't often see on Böker razors. Like the blade the backspacer is made from damascus steel.

Swedish Stainless Damascus Steel
For this special edition straight razor Böker used stainless Swedish damascus steel. This damascus steel is enhanced with a twist-pattern. This luxurious material, in combination with the curly birch wood of the handle, makes the knife look classy.
