Description:
The Opinel pocket knife with wooden handle. Manufactured in 1890 by Joseph Opinel, this handy knife was originally designed for use by local farmers. The Opinel pocket knife is a renowned, yet really affordable pocket knife, ideal for everyday use. It is available in a variety of sizes ranging from small to fairly large.
The larger models feature the simple yet effective Virobloc safety twistlock mechanism, which allows the blade to be locked in both the open and the closed positions. This pocket knife is a classic in the true sense of the word.
The blade of this knife is made of carbon steel. It is very easy to sharpen and hone to a thin edge, making it razor sharp, yet very strong. Carbon steel is more susceptible to rust than stainless steel and therefore needs to be cleaned properly and kept dry.
