The Extrema Ratio Dobermann IV Africa is a fixed knife, designed and made for professional hunters. This is one of the most luxurious hunting knives in our range.
The blade is made from Böhler N690 steel, which is very corrosion-resistant and can really take a beating. It also has good sharpness retention. The blade is fairly thick. However, it has a neat, thin grind and a razor-sharp edge. The spine also has a swedge, which is a false edge that thins the blade to save weight. Because of this combination, a thicker part runs through the middle of the blade, giving the long blade its strength at the tip. A smart design, built to be used for years.
The standard handle is made from rosewood, a high-end material that makes this hunting knife a touch more elegant. Would you prefer a low-maintenance version that can withstand changes in temperature a little better? Extrema Ratio has the solution: a handle made of forprene plastic is also supplied. You can swap the handles with the included Allen keys. The wooden handle has a leather wrist cord, and the forprene version has a piece of paracord.
The sheath of the Extrema Ratio Dobermann IV is also very luxurious. The leather shaft is lined with a kydex insert. An awl and a diamond sharpening stone are also included in their own compartment on the sheath. There are various attachment options allowing you to attach this sheath in many ways. You can have the Dobermann horizontally or vertically on your belt, but also on a MOLLE system.
The Extrema Ratio Dobermann IV Africa is a large, appealing hunting knife for the hunter or collector who only wants the best. It doesn't look out of place in a display case, but at the end of the day, it has been made to be used.
