Description:

The Kershaw Natrix Copper 7006CU is a compact and cool EDC pocket knife. The design is based on the legendary Zero Tolerance 0777. Ever since its release the Kershaw Natrix caused a lot of commotion. A lot has been written about it. What remains a fact, however, is that the Natrix is an amazing pocket knife, for an amazing price.

The wavy lines of the 0777 are immediately recognizable. The round groove in the blade makes it look really dynamic. The lines of the handle nicely fit the blade and the proportions are spot on.

You open this knife with the flipper. And thanks to the ball bearings, the blade shoots from the handle. When opened the blade is kept in place by the Sub-Framelock. This is a version of the regular frame lock where the lockbar is placed in the handle. KAI USA, the mother company of Zero Tolerance and Kershaw has a patent on this feature.

This special copper edition has a handle made from, you guessed it, copper. This is not often used because it is a relatively soft material, but the real enthusiasts know how to appreciate this material. Copper will also form a patina in time because of the acids and salt in your hands.

The blade is made from D2 steel. This is a type of tool steel that has been used for knives for dozens of years. It retains its sharpness for a long time and it is relatively tough. Because of the stonewashed finish traces of use hardly stand out. You do, however, need to be careful with acids and salt: D2 is not 100% stainless. Clean it after use and occasionally add a drop of oil.

Because of its background and appealing design the Kershaw Natrix is a pocket knife that belongs in every pocket knife collection. Because of the story, but also to be used. That is, in the end, what the knife is meant for.
