Frame-Lock ![A framelock (also frame lock) is a special type of locking mechanism used in one-handed knives. Generally considered to be more sturdy & reliable than a linerlock, the general open and close methods don't vary much; the only real difference between the two variations is that with a liner lock as the blade opens a separate liner engages to lock the blade, however in a frame lock a whole portion of the frame engages to lock the blade. Detailed description: In almost every frame lock, a detent ball engages with a hole in the base of the blade to keep it closed, as well as providing tension for a snappy opening. A stop pin mounted above and forward of the pivot locates the blade's end position when opened, also helping to eliminate wear on the lock bar.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |

Ball Bearings ![Ball Bearings allow for extremely smooth operation when deploying & closing a blade. They feature ball bearing washers that allow the blade to open smoothly around the pivot point with the help of a blade flipper on the tang of the knife. They work in an almost identical way to spring assisted knives, except there are no springs! This makes blade deployment extremely fast & is now, generally speaking, the most widespread popular method used by most knifemakers in the world today.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |

Titanium ![Titanium metal is a very durable metal for engineering applications because this metal is corrosion-resistant and also this metal is very strong and very light. It is 40% lighter than steel but as strong as high-strength steel. The biggest pro for titanium knives is that they are more corrosion resistant than steel. This is especially useful for divers, who will carry the knife of long periods of time in highly corrosive ocean water. Another pro is that titanium is lighter than steel. Reducing weight can help reduce strain during knife use. As the ninth-most abundant element in the Earth's crust, titanium is relatively rare. Research shows the strong and lightweight metal only accounts for roughly 0.63% of the Earth's crust. Titanium is obtained from various ores that occur naturally on the earth. The primary ores used for titanium production include ilmenite, leucoxene, and rutile. Other notable sources include anatase, perovskite, and sphene. Ilmenite and leucoxene are titaniferous ores.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |

Mike Skellern , Fred Burger ![Fred Burger, the maker of the EXK is a great person and has gone above and beyond in collaboration with MIke Skellern to make one of the best, most legendary gentlemen knives on the market. This knife is a work of art and will go down in history as a timeless piece that has had multiple variations in terms of sizes, materials & finish. When the collaboration started, going back+/-20 years the work load was shared between the two knife shops of Burger and Skellern, this was the case for many years. The collaboration knife had the EXKELIBUR logo( a play on Burger and Skellern names) Over the years they decided to change from the EXKELIBUR logo and make use of both their individual logos as this was more suited to the custom knife market they operate within. As situations and personal have changed over the years, the current set up with the EXK is that if your knife has a SKELLERN logo it was made by Mike and if your knife has the BURGER logo it was made by Burger Knives. They still continue to enjoy our collaboration and it gives them great pride in producing this popular folder.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |

Superb little folding knife with an attractive Titanium handle and very high quality CPM-S35VN stainless steel blade. Plus the blue anodized pocket clip (tip-up / tip-down) is an added element which really makes this an appealing knife. This version is the smaller Exskelibur.
Almost no other Boker Plus model series has seen this much demand and been offered in as many versions in recent years. We are now elevating the series to a new standard with the new models by presenting the Exskelibur as a titanium framelock. This particularly refined version is even thinner than the linerlock version and compels with the elegant contouring on both handle scales.
The front scale consists of titanium, giving the knife an exceptional appeal. In order to meet the particularly exclusive expectations placed on these models, we also spared no expense for the blade steel and selected the powdered-metal CPM-S-35VN as the appropriate material. The blade is given a fine horizontal hand-applied satin finish that ideally harmonizes with the matte, bead-blasted titanium. All models have the characteristic blue-anodized titanium clip, which can be converted from tip-down to tip-up. As a result, the Exskelibur framelocks represent the tip of the spear for Boker Plus and elevate the already extremely popular design to the next level. The handle thickness of this fascinating gentlemen's knife is barely 9 mm at its thickest point (measured without clip). Two small, dowel-shaped spacers are used to visually accentuate the lightness of the handle, thus presenting the handle a completely open design. This small version has the same premium features as its bigger brother, but at 59 grams is yet again significantly lighter at the same handle and blade thickness.
The knife comes with a torx key to adjust the pivot.
