Liner-Lock ![One of the most popular locking types in the knife world; The Linerlock is a locking mechanism for folding pocket knives. A Linerlock is a folding knife with a side-spring lock that can usually be opened and closed with one hand without repositioning the knife in the hand. The lock is self-adjusting for wear. Liner locks are beneficial because you can close the knife with one hand without switching grip, ideal for when you need both hands on the job. You'll find liner locks in both entry-level and high-end knives. It's a lock type that appeals to both knife newbies and enthusiasts alike.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |

Pivot Assembly : |
Ball Bearings ![Ball Bearings allow for extremely smooth operation when deploying & closing a blade. They feature ball bearing washers that allow the blade to open smoothly around the pivot point with the help of a blade flipper on the tang of the knife. They work in an almost identical way to spring assisted knives, except there are no springs! This makes blade deployment extremely fast & is now, generally speaking, the most widespread popular method used by most knifemakers in the world today.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |
Blade Material : |
Damascus ![Damascus steel is a famed type of steel recognizable by the watery or wavy light and dark pattern of the metal. Damascus Steel is very popular because it offers excellent blade properties such as strength and durability with good flexibility for cutting. Aside from being beautiful, Damascus steel is valued because it maintains a keen edge, yet is hard and flexible. Knives & Tools made from Damascus steel are vastly superior to those formed from iron! Although modern high-carbon steels made using the 19th century Bessemer process surpass the quality of Damascus steel, the original metal remains an outstanding material, particularly for its day. There are two types of Damascus steel: cast Damascus steel and pattern-welded Damascus steel. Damascus steel is beautiful, very sharp, and very tough. It was superior to other alloys used for swords at the time. A Damascus blade will retain its sharpness for longer than most production quality blades. Damascus steel requires special care for it to retain its original luster and beauty. Many hand-forged Damascus blades are made out of high carbon steel with small amounts of chromium in the alloy. While high in carbon steel, the blade can easily rust if not cared for.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |
Blade Treatment : |
Heat Treated ![Heat treating is a part of the knife making process that is designed to help harden the steel of the blade for use. Heat treating can be accomplished in four steps: normalize, quench, temper, and sand. Water is one of the most efficient quenching media where maximum hardness is desired, but there is a small chance that it may cause distortion and tiny cracking. When hardness can be sacrificed, mineral oils are often used. If you don't heat treat a blade the blade will not remain sharp or straight. It is prone to chipping and bending. Essentially, you'll have a knife-shaped metal piece. Even if the blade steel is good, it is useless until it is hardened.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |
Handle Material : |
G10 ![Unlike more traditional knife handle materials, G-10 won't crack, break, chip, or scratch easily. G10 is a versatile material that was originally used for printed circuit boards due to its high-temperature durability and non-conductive properties. It was later discovered to be a great material for knife handles and even gun grips due to its moisture-resistant characteristics. G10 handles are very durable with a very high level of strength, meaning they will last for a very long time even under heavy use in both wet and dry conditions. G10 is also commonly used for underwater applications due to its strength, durability, and highly water-resistant properties. It is also non-flammable & non-conductive. G-10 is the designation for a glass-based epoxy resin laminate. What that means is that you take a glass-based cloth (fiberglass, in other words), soak it in an epoxy resin, and then using heat and pressure compress it into the shape you want.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |

Titanium ![Titanium metal is a very durable metal for engineering applications because this metal is corrosion-resistant and also this metal is very strong and very light. It is 40% lighter than steel but as strong as high-strength steel. The biggest pro for titanium knives is that they are more corrosion resistant than steel. This is especially useful for divers, who will carry the knife of long periods of time in highly corrosive ocean water. Another pro is that titanium is lighter than steel. Reducing weight can help reduce strain during knife use. As the ninth-most abundant element in the Earth's crust, titanium is relatively rare. Research shows the strong and lightweight metal only accounts for roughly 0.63% of the Earth's crust. Titanium is obtained from various ores that occur naturally on the earth. The primary ores used for titanium production include ilmenite, leucoxene, and rutile. Other notable sources include anatase, perovskite, and sphene. Ilmenite and leucoxene are titaniferous ores.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |

Screws Material : |
[Stainless] Steel ![Like all other kinds of steel, stainless steel is made primarily from iron and carbon in a two-step process. What makes stainless steel different is the addition of chromium (Cr) and other alloying elements such as nickel (Ni) to create a corrosion-resistant product. It's worth noting that over time and if not maintained correctly, rust can and will develop on stainless steel. Stainless steel is an extremely tough and highly durable material with high impact resistance. Part of the reason for this is that stainless steel has low susceptibility to brittleness at high and low temperatures. It has a design life expectancy of over fifty years.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |

Justin Lundquist ![With a lifelong passion for fine art and traditional craftsmanship, Justin Lundquist has applied his extensive camping and hunting experience to create this fine knives that embody exquisite form and first-class function. "I received my first knife from my mother at the age of 4. It was a small fixed blade to go with my fishing gear and tackle box. I have been fascinated with them ever since. I accumulated a small collection of inexpensive production knives over the next few years. Some were family gifts and some came from fairground prizes. I was always drawn to the wide range of shapes and designs while still being a functional utilitarian tool. After graduating college with a degree in Fine Art Photography and working in that industry for over a decade, I stumbled into the world of full custom handmade knives. It was a rabbit hole I couldn’t resist. I gathered as much information as I could and began to teach myself knife design and making. In 2013 I began slowly making my own knives. I love the creative process of designing and physically building a beautiful functional tool that can be carried and used daily. I strive to create functional EDCs that have clean lines, shapes and transitions. Mixing classic and modern I hope to make designs that last and stand the test of time."](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |

Nylon ![Nylon has both excellent strength and abrasion resistance, allowing it to stand up to any sport. It has a fantastic elastic recovery meaning that fabrics can stretch to their limits without losing their shape. Besides, nylon has good resistance to sunlight, making it an excellent choice for activewear. Nylon is a generic designation for a family of synthetic polymers composed of polyamides (repeating units linked by amide links). Nylon is a silk-like thermoplastic, generally made from petroleum, that can be melt-processed into fibers, films, or shapes.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |
