Phosphor Bronze Washers ![Phosphor bronze washers are a non magnetic high quality alloy, commonly used in applications requiring high strength and high temperature resistance. The washers are resistant to fatigue, wear and corrosion. Phosphorous bronze washers offer improved performance and durability for the opening and closing of folding knives and knife kits. They are highly regarded in the knife community for the replacement of standard washers on many high end custom and production made knives, such as Spyderco, CRKT, Boker, and many more. Because of their low friction coefficient, phosphorous bronze replacement washers are an excellent choice for knives with compression fit pivots. These washers do not compress like others, which allows for a tighter fit on the pivot. This adds speed and smoothness to the opening and closing of any knife.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |

Blade Treatment : |
Cryogenically Treated ![Cryogenic treatment is a common process designed to enhance the performance of metal blades. Extreme deep freezing increases the service life of knives by improving their resistance to wear. As a one-time treatment, freezing knife blades makes them more durable and less prone to chipping and fracturing under stress. A cryogenic treatment is the process of treating workpieces to cryogenic temperatures (i.e. below −190 °C (−310 °F)) in order to remove residual stresses and improve wear resistance in steels and other metal alloys, such as aluminum. This treatment type will slightly increase the price of the knife but the value it provides far outweighs the cost.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |
Handle Material : |
Carbon Fibre ![A brilliant material for knives: Lightweight, highly durable & incredibly nice to look at. Carbon fibers or carbon fibres are fibers about 5 to 10 micrometers in diameter and composed mostly of carbon atoms. Carbon fibers have several advantages: high stiffness, high tensile strength, high strength to weight ratio, high chemical resistance, high-temperature tolerance, and low thermal expansion. Though steel is generally considered the standard when it comes to construction and industrial settings, in terms of strength to weight ratios, carbon fiber is actually significantly stronger than steel. Carbon fiber is chemically stable, corrosion-resistant, and won't rust. Meaning it works well in harsh environments. Carbon fibre does not absorb water from the environment, and its resistance remains unchanged when immersed in water. It used to be outrageously expensive but now carbon fibre is becoming more affordable making it an incredibly appealing material on knives.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |

Titanium ![Titanium metal is a very durable metal for engineering applications because this metal is corrosion-resistant and also this metal is very strong and very light. It is 40% lighter than steel but as strong as high-strength steel. The biggest pro for titanium knives is that they are more corrosion resistant than steel. This is especially useful for divers, who will carry the knife of long periods of time in highly corrosive ocean water. Another pro is that titanium is lighter than steel. Reducing weight can help reduce strain during knife use. As the ninth-most abundant element in the Earth's crust, titanium is relatively rare. Research shows the strong and lightweight metal only accounts for roughly 0.63% of the Earth's crust. Titanium is obtained from various ores that occur naturally on the earth. The primary ores used for titanium production include ilmenite, leucoxene, and rutile. Other notable sources include anatase, perovskite, and sphene. Ilmenite and leucoxene are titaniferous ores.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |

Description:
This Nomad model has a carbon fiber handle and a black finish titanium frame. It comes outfitted with a satin black finished tanto blade.
The Nomad by Jesse James Knife Company is modeled after one of Jesse's favorite knives from his personal collection. This modern imagining of the "swing blade" knife is built with an AEB-L stainless steel blade and a durable machined titanium frame. The Nomad is a unique knife for collectors who have grown weary of the traditional folder, or just want to spice up the old EDC rotation.
This knife was semi-custom made by Quartermaster in collaberation with Millet, designed by Jesse James of Monster Garage. Fully manufactured in the USA.
AEB-L, the chosen blade steel has seen recent popularity due to it's superb properties and potential when in the hands of a capable bladesmith. Millet got their experienced hands on this blade steel and the result.. the Nomad, a stunning semi-custom build that boasts build quality.
