[Schrade] Ultimate Fixed Blade
£58.95
 |
Description:
This Schrade Fixed Blade is a solid camping knife, for a good price. 1095 carbon steel was used for the blade. We know this type of steel from many major knife brands. The fact that Schrade can offer a comparable knife at such an attractive price is simply impressive. The shape of the blade is very cool due to its recurve. Designer Brian Griffin designs these kinds of knives, and writes articles for a knife magazine in the United States.
1095 carbon steel is so popular because it can withstand quite a lot. This knife, however, can handle even more because Schrade added a 5.9 mm thick blade to the knife. It makes the knife virtually unbreakable. The solidity of 1095 is not the only positive feature. The ease of sharpening is also a plus. This allows you to easily re-energize the cut in the field with the included sharpening stone. You do, however, always have to be on the lookout for rust. This is why Schrade added a matte black coating to the blade. This means that you only have to pay attention to the edge and any wear and tear in the coating. Great when you are out in the field. The handle is made from Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE). Strong, offers enough grip and is rubbery. Very nice for a knife handle.
The Schrade Ultimate Brute comes with a luxurious nylon sheath. The sheath is enhanced with a belt loop that can accommodate straps of up to 5.5 cm.
