Description:
The CRKT Seismic is a large and solid pocket knife, designed by Flavio Ikoma. This is the first production pocket knife with Deadbolt lock. This is an incredibly strong mechanism, designed by Flavio Ikoma himself.
The most important part of the Deadbolt lock is the hardened steel wedge that falls into the cut-outs in the blade This construction is so strong it can handle quite a lot. Using it is easy: you simply press the large pivot to close the blade.
It is remarkable that you can adjust the so-called detent yourself. The show side contains a tiny torx screw, just before the middle of the handle. By turning it you can adjust how much pressure you need to take the knife from the handle. Some people feel a slight detent is great, others prefer a heavier one to make sure it doesn't open as quick. It is very unique you have this choice, especially on a knife in this price range.
You open the CRKT Seismic with the flipper or the double thumb stud. Because the blade is relatively large and runs on ball bearings it will open quickly. Flavio Ikoma is namely also one of the inventors of the IKBS ball bearing system. The blade is made from 1.4116. An originally German type of steel that is stainless and incredibly tough, but also easy to sharpen. The handle is made from G10. This version of the Seismic has a cool black coating on the blade.
This CRKT Seismic might be the first-ever pocket knife with Deadbolt lock, we don't expect it to be the last. Everyone needs to have tried such an amazing system at least once.
