Blade Treatment : |
Heat Treated ![Heat treating is a part of the knife making process that is designed to help harden the steel of the blade for use. Heat treating can be accomplished in four steps: normalize, quench, temper, and sand. Water is one of the most efficient quenching media where maximum hardness is desired, but there is a small chance that it may cause distortion and tiny cracking. When hardness can be sacrificed, mineral oils are often used. If you don't heat treat a blade the blade will not remain sharp or straight. It is prone to chipping and bending. Essentially, you'll have a knife-shaped metal piece. Even if the blade steel is good, it is useless until it is hardened.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |
Handle Material : |
Bone ![Popular because of its beauty as well as its ability to be dyed and "jigged" (carved). Most bone used in knife handles comes from cattle (shin bones, specifically). Once textured, bone handles can offer a secure grip. Bones are cleaned with hydrogen peroxide sanitizing them and killing any harmful bacteria while also whitening them. To give you an idea- Bone has nearly the same compression strength as stainless steel but it's 3x lighter... making it ideal for knives. It's also waterproof which is a nice bonus.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |

Description:
The Rough Ryder Mini Cajun Bowie is a miniature knife, with a bowie pattern. Despite its small size the blade is razor-sharp. The knife is made for real collector's, but don't underestimate it. It is razor-sharp upon delivery and can easily carry out small, detailed tasks.
It's a Bowie knife but it's only the size of your palm! The Rough Rider Cajun Bowie Mini is far from a novelty, however. It has the steel and the quality to be a fully functioning tool.
The Bowie blade is made from mirror polished 440 stainless steel with a full tang. The handle is of coloured smooth bone with a nickel silver guard, pins, bolsters and pommel.
This is a small knife - look at the picture of it "in hand".
