Description:
The Kershaw Norad is a cool EDC pocket knife enhanced with a couple of cool design elements. You, for instance, immediately notice the blade. The royal 8.7 cm blade is enhanced with a large thumb slot. While the rest of the blade has a satin finish the groove has been given a PVD coating for extra contrast. You can also easily open the blade with this slot. The preferred method, however, is still the flipper. With this flipper Kershaw once again demonstrates what it can do.
The flipper is namely really small. And yet it opens smoothly because of the KVT ball bearings. A nice detail is the fact that Kershaw made sure that a part of the handle sticks out a little. As such your fingers rest on the handle instead of the lockbar. If you push down on the lockbar you make sure the knife remains closed, making it really hard to flip the knife. This is an elegant solution to this problem. Another elegant solution is the way the small flipper completely disappears into the handle when opened. As such the knife looks really sleek.
The handle is made from stainless steel and enhanced with carbon fibre parts. Another great contrasting accent. The blade is made from D2 steel. This is a good type of tool steel that has been used on knives for many years. Tough and easy to sharpen.
Finally we want to mention the stunning pivot. On the show side it's completely ‘blind’ to make it look even more luxurious. All these details ensure that the Kershaw Norad is a whole lot of knife, for an amazing price.
