Designed by Gustavo T. Cecchini, this knife features a 3.88" (98.5mm) CPM 20CV stainless steel blade with a satin bead blasted finish, offering exceptional edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. The blade, with a flat grind and compound grind modified spear point, has a hardness of 58-60 HRC and a thickness of 0.16" (4mm), ensuring durability and precision cutting.
The integral 6AL4V titanium handle, in a blue icey stonewashed finish measures 5.09" (129.4mm) when closed and provides a secure, ergonomic grip with a thickness of 0.54" (13.6mm). The knife employs a smooth SLT flipper opener and a caged ceramic ball bearing pivot for effortless deployment, secured by a reliable frame lock. A tip-up, right-carry titanium pocket clip, matching the handle’s finish, enhances portability. With an overall length of 8.97" (227.9mm) and a weight of 5.77oz (163.7g), the Solid Flipper balances substantial feel with everyday carry convenience. Blade made of CPM 20CV steel
The blade of the Solid is made of CPM 20CV steel. This is premium steel made in the United States by Crucible Industries. CPM 20CV is popular because it is very hard and therefore retains its sharpness well. Moreover, 20CV is very corrosion resistant. These features make it an excellent choice for a pocket knife. In terms of composition and use, CPM 20CV is very similar to Böhler M390, another popular steel. Because CPM 20CV is incredibly hard, we recommend sharpening this pocket knife with diamond sharpening stones or ceramic sharpening stones, or a sharpening system that uses these sharpening stones.
Titanium handle
The handle of this WE Knife Solid is made of titanium. Titanium is a fantastic high-tech material. It is an excellent choice for the handle of a pocket knife for several reasons: titanium is very strong, lightweight and it is flexible. Moreover, titanium can be machined very precisely and a wide range of different finishes are possible. To be exact, the handle is made of a titanium alloy. Small amounts of aluminium and vanadium are added to pure titanium to make it even more suitable for use as a pocket knife handle.
