The ProForge ATLAS stands as a heavy duty behemoth particularly suited to tackling gritty, rugged, hardened tasks. This thing laughs in the face of adversity.
As one of the largest lock knives we have, the ATLAS is great for users with big hands, or if you're looking for a larger knife. The overkill jimping across the top on the handle, continuing into the blade gives a positive grip even in the roughest conditions, even when wearing gloves.
Toughened Lock
One of the best ways to open the ATLAS is by holding the blade, and doing a thrusting down motion, using the weight of the knife to open it- this gives you the ability to open the knife one-handed no matter the situation. Alternatively, just brush the blade open with the thumb groove.
Sticking with the colossal build, the lock is tough as nails. It's a framelock that engages with more than 50% bite, so you can focus on the job. This makes it harder to disengage, with no compromises.
ATLAS Frame
The whole frame of the ATLAS is built upon stainless steel, blackened then stonewashed to give it a wear-hiding, corrosion resistant finish- it also looks great. The left scale has textured G10, adding a bit of thickness, making the knife really fill out in the hand.
Robust Blade
The blade is where the action happens, and the ATLAS comes primed; a huge slab of hardened stainless steel, ground flat to a tanto tip. It's thick, chunky profile ensures you have enough cutting power for anything you encounter, and due to the properties, will sharpen up quickly and easily to a really sharp edge.
Worried about dirt or grime interfering with the bearings/mechanism? No problems here; the teflon washers will be unaffected by oil, grease and moisture or dryness.
Your ATLAS comes numbered, in a Premium Duncans gift box with care leaflet and cleaning cloth.
