Description:
The Böker Plus Wasabi Cocobolo is a lightweight gentleman's knife, designed by Kansei Matsuno. This Japanese knife maker is known for the unique combination of traditional Japanese knifemaking and modern techniques. This Böker Wasabi is a perfect example of this.
The Böker Wasabi is the kind of knife you'd use to cut a fine piece of steak in a good restaurant. Its incredibly slim profile and thin blade make it perfect for cutting meat, vegetables and fruit. A true gentleman's knife.
You open the 440C steel blade with the front flipper. This is a small latch protruding from the front of the handle that helps you open the knife. When opened the blade is kept in place by a slipjoint mechanism.
In this case, it's a detent slipjoint, where there are two detents with detent balls on the inside of the handle which keep the blade open. It's not a real lock, so you can press it closed again, but it's enough to keep your fingers safe during normal use.
There are many different versions of the Böker Plus Wasabi. This one has a beautiful cocobolo wood handle. Cocobolo is a luxurious wood with a reddish brown color and a beautiful grain pattern.
