Back-Lock ![The old school lock; for the classy gentleman. Backlock (or: Lockback, Back-Lock, Spinelock) is the mechanism in certain lockable pocketknives. The handle of a Lockback knife contains a mechanism that allows the blade to be locked in place and then unlocked again. The blade of a Lockback knife also has a small notch on the end of the tang. Lockbacks are by design totally ambidextrous – since actuation of the lock is done along the spine, they don't favor one hand over the other. They are also generally very strong – the lock bar is a lot thicker than a typical liner lock, being the same width as the blade stock itself. [Detailed Info]: At their core, backlocks are simply a derivative of the non-locking slipjoint. The lock bar is pinned to the scales of the blade, pivoting in the middle, and a bent spring anchored further back in handle provides upward pressure behind the pivot point, pressing the front of the lock bar downward. In the closed position, the lock bar sits on a ramp in the bottom of the tang which provides a detent for opening. When the blade is opened, the forward portion of the lock bar with its square protusion sits down into a matching square cutout on the top of the blade tang, locking it into position. The cutout on the tang matching the shape of the lock bar means that the lock bar has to be lifted out of the notch to release the blade. The spring bar thus keeps the lock closed until the bar is pressed from behind the pivot point against the spring tension opening the knife.](https://duncansgunmakers.co.uk/catalog/media/info_icon.png) |

Description:
The Turn by Fabrizio Silvestrelli is a folding knife with an advanced lock-back system blending tradition, practicality, and modern construction technologies. It is one of the few lockback designs to use ball bearings, ensuring a smooth and fluid rotation of the blade. The blade is Bohler M390 stainless steel with high bevels and a bold counter-bevel. The handle is bolstered titanium with various scale materials - which is a very important feature because it makes the knife more and robust solid during use. The scales are available in fine woods and real ram horn or, as an alternative, other synthetic versions typical of modern sporting knives such as carbon fiber, canvas Micarta, and G10. The former is equipped with a leather sheath and no pocket clip that respects the classic setting, while the latter has a practical titanium clip and no sheath. The Turn combines classic styling with a ton of modern features that make it a force to be reckoned with for your hard-earned dollars.
This limited edition model is limited to 300 units and features a bead blasted blade with Copper Dark Matter FatCarbon scales.
