 Description:

The Fällkniven Modern Bowie is a very large camping knife, inspired by the classic Bowie. Fällkniven, however, selected hyper-modern materials that turn this knife into a true performance beast.

You could consider it to be the biggest brother from the Fällkniven Pro-collection. Even though it is officially not a part of this collection, it is made from the same materials. After all, the blade is also made from laminated CoS steel. A stainless type of steel that can easily be sharpened. In addition, it is tough and retains its sharpness well. An incredibly balanced type of steel that has definitely proven itself over the years.

The handle is made from Thermorun. That is a rubber-like material that even feels great in hand in arctic Swedish circumstances. The tang of the blade broadly runs throughout the handle and as such offers optimal strength. Compared to the other Fällkniven Pro knives this Modern Bowie has a relatively thick handle. As a result you have a little more grip than with the, according to some, slightly slim Pro-handles. To make sure you don't slip and end up on the blade the knife has been enhanced with a large steel knife guard.

As all fixed Fällkniven knives the Modern Bowie has also been enhanced with a convex grind. This means that the edge doesn't have a flat v-shape, but a slight curve. This leaves you with an even more sustainable edge that can handle tough outdoor conditions. Sharpening might take a little getting used to, but is definitely not impossible. We recommend regular stropping to make sure the knife remains razor-sharp.

Another difference with the Pro-collection is the sheath. This Fällkniven Modern Bowie comes with an incredibly solid leather sheath. It can be used by both left and right-handed users. To attach it to a belt you can use a dangler loop which offers room for belts up to 7.0 cm wide.

This is the 10-version of the Fällkniven Modern Bowie. This means that you have a ten-year warranty on the knife and that the luxurious waterproof case with sharpening stone is missing. The advantage is that this model is a lot more affordable.
