Blade made of CPM 20CV steel
The blade of the OAO is made of CPM 20CV steel. This is premium steel made in the United States by Crucible Industries. CPM 20CV is popular because it is very hard and therefore retains its sharpness well. Moreover, 20CV is very corrosion resistant. These features make it an excellent choice for a pocket knife. In terms of composition and use, CPM 20CV is very similar to Böhler M390, another popular steel. Because CPM 20CV is incredibly hard, we recommend sharpening this pocket knife with diamond sharpening stones or ceramic sharpening stones, or a sharpening system that uses these sharpening stones.
