Remarkable about the Tropen is that the knife can be opened in three different ways. The most obvious option is the flipper. Because of the semi-circular cut-out at the top of the handle it is easy to use. Of course you could use Spyderco's characterizing thumb hole, but we also see an Emerson-style openings mechanism. This is the little wave on the spine of the blade. You can use this 'hook' to open the pocket knife when you take it from your pocket. You pull the knife back after which the wave will get caught behind the edge of your pocket opening the blade. Incredibly practical! The handle and backspacer are made from polished G10. This gives the knife a chic look and feel and makes sure the handle feels comfortable in hand.
