Description:
The Kershaw Natrix is a light-weight pocket knife, based on the legendary Zero Tolerance 0777. Ever since its release the Kershaw Natrix caused something of a stir. For this reason many things have been written about it. There is, however, one thing we are sure of. The Natrix is an amazing pocket knife that is incredibly reasonably-priced.
The wavy lines of the 0777 can immediately be recognized in the Natrix. The round groove in the blade gives the knife a dynamic look. The lines on the handle perfectly connect with the handle and the proportions are spot on.
You open the blade with the flipper. Because of the SpeedSafe Assisted opening the blade will shoot from the handle. When opened the blade is kept in place by the Sub-Framelock, a version of the regular framelock where the lockbar has been added to the handle. KAI USA, the mother company of Zero Tolerance and Kershaw has the patent on this feature.
The handle itself is made from G10. The steel spring on the Sub-Framelock is in beautiful contrast with the black G10. The blade is made from 8Cr13MoV steel. A stainless type of steel which can easily be sharpened. This black edition has been enhanced with a black coating on the blade.
This Kershaw Natrix is, because of its background and appealing design, a pocket knife that should be a part of any collection. Because of the story, but also as a knife that should be used. That is, after all, what the knife is made for.
